I've long been fascinated by the mathematical conundrum of the Möbius strip. I was even in a band called Mobia's Trip for five years, and I'd previously explored the form of this ring years ago in a bangle bracelet (#6 at the link).

Although most people may be familiar with a Möbius strip as a twisted ribbon, this ring is a true Möbius figure. The square-shaped shank is given a gentle one-quarter turn, resulting in a four-sided shape with a single surface plane. If you trace a line from any point on the ring, you'll go around the ring four times and wind up exactly where you started without ever breaking that line.
