Some friends of mine approached me to make simple wedding bands—their words, not mine; they were almost apologetic that they weren't looking for something more creative given the rest of my work. Naturally, I was just excited to be asked to be a small part of their union by making their rings. For the groom, we chose a broad band with a smooth finish (so smooth that you can see the reflection of me taking its picture) and for the bride a narrow band with a delicately hammered finish. The couple even came to my studio for part of the process and helped to hammer in some of the texture on the bride's band.
