A couple came to me for these white gold wedding bands. The groom is half Tongan, and so we came up with the idea of using tapa cloth patterns from Tonga as the design on the rings. The groom's mom sent us a picture of one of her family's tapa patterns, and I simplified it slightly for the design on the bands. We also repeated the six-diamond pattern three times on each ring to suggest the Holy Trinity of Christianity. Given the Tongan influence, I like the idea that by wearing her ring it's as though the bride is becoming a member of her husband's tribe.
